Tim O’Brian – Photographer

“As far back as I can remember, I always wanted to make movies. To me, being a filmmaker was better than being President of the United States. My father always had a camera around, and occasionally he’d let me run around with the camcorder on family road trips.  Much to my Korean mother’s dismay, when it came time to pick a college major, I chose film production instead of pursuing a DDS/DMD. Over the years, I’ve expanded my passion for movie making into videography, photography and content creation, anything where I can be sitting behind a camera, looking through a viewfinder. When I’m not upgrading my camera gear, I like to collect guitars, Stratocasters being my favorite in terms of design. Growing up in Orange County, California, spending time at the beach was more than just a pastime, it was a lifestyle and I like to think I bring that unique perspective to every project. I have lived in the valley for 12 years now and since moving to Arizona, I have been blessed with a beautiful wife, an amazing daughter, and a dream job career. In my free time, I enjoy hanging out with the family, practicing guitar, weight lifting, playing video games, and cooking. My most expensive camera rig I own & operate is a Red V-Raptor XE 8K VV cinema camera which I pair with either a set of DZO Arles cine lenses, a set of Blazar Cato 2x Squeeze Anamorphic lenses, or a Laowa 24mm Macro Probe Lens. Outside of the red camera ecosystem, For weddings, events or corporate work, I use a mix of Canon R Series, Super 8, and 35mm film camera bodies, as well as ef / rf mount lenses. “
